Ann V. Mitchell, 98West Boylston – Ann V. (Costigan) Mitchell, 98, formerly of Hudson and Millis, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the Oakdale Rehab & Nursing Center in West Boylston.

She is survived by her son, Robert R. Mitchell Jr. and his wife Judith of Hudson; her daughter, Jane M. Grenache and her husband Peter of Leominster; five grandchildren, Christine Grenache, Michelle Grenache, Wendy Cunningham, Joseph Mitchell, and Jamie Mitchell; and five great-grandchildren, Gabriella Mitchell, Soleil Mitchell, Jordan Mitchell, Ryleigh Cunningham, and Marley Cunningham. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert R. Mitchell, in 1975 and her son, Mark O. Mitchell, in 1978.

Born August 2, 1913 in New Bedford, the daughter of Mikolay and Mary (Koczara) Zimbicki, she had lived in Hudson and Millis for several years.

Mrs. Mitchell was a telephone operator at the New England Telephone Co. for 39 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

A calling hour will be held Saturday, March 24, from 2 to 3 p.m., in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster. A graveside service will be held in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson at a later date.
