Eleanore Marshall, 101Marlborough – Eleanore (Bunn) Curtis Nordgren Ohman Marshall, 101, died Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012.

Born in Orange, N.J., the daughter of the late Dr. Frank C. and Annie (Pray) Bunn, she spent most of her adult life in Marlborough. She was the wife of the late John A. Curtis Jr., the late Ralph E. Nordgren, the late George A. Ohman, and the late John L. Marshall. She was also the companion of the late Joseph O’Brien.

She was a graduate of the Dearborn Morgan School and Vassar College. She taught English at the Marlborough High School for 18 years, and was a former president of the Marlborough Teacher's Association as well as a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. She served many years as president of the Parent Teachers Association and also served one term on Marlborough School Committee.

Mrs. Marshall was a longtime member of the First Church (Congregational) of Marlborough, where she was involved in youth group activities. She always gave her time to as many organizations as she could, including the Marlborough Hospital Auxiliary, the United Way, the Girl Scouts, and many others.

She had a passion for many different hobbies; loved outdoor activities like sailing, canoeing, fishing and gardening; and was an avid collector of antiques, doll houses, rabbits, ice cream, and chocolate molds. She published a book “Metal Molds.”

She is survived by two sons, John A. Curtis III of Florida and Ralph E. Nordgren and his wife Dorothy of Marlborough; two daughters, Nancy (Curtis) Hawley of California and Betsy (Curtis) D’Angelo of Wisconsin; two step-children, John L. Marshall Jr. and Caryl McLaughlin; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Cara D’Angelo, who died in 1978, and her son-in-law, Dr. Charles D’ Angelo, who died in 2006.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 23, at 12 p.m., in the First Church Congregational, 37 High St., Marlborough. Arrangements under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home of Marlborough.
