Westborough – Samantha Fowle (right), of Westborough, and her Ohio State University Buckeye teammate Emily Walsh (left), of Pittsburgh, Penn., participated in the Open Women category of the CRASH-B Sprints (www.crash-b.org), the world indoor rowing championships that were recently held at Agannis Arena at Boston University.

Out of 196 entrants and assisted by Erika Benford (center) of Chicago, Ill., Fowle placed 14th overall and Walsh placed sixth overall. Walsh also received a medal for her second-place finish among U-23 entrants.

This spring, the Ohio State University varsity women's rowing team will defend its Big Ten Championship and hopes to return to the NCAA Division 1 Finals in Princeton, N.J., in May.
