Westborough – The Westborough Public Library will be offering five free programs in April to promote personal financial literacy during Money Smart Month.
The first program, “Home Buying 101,” will be presented by Westborough realtor and resident Tim Foley of Remax Prestige and his associates Thursday, April 5, at 7 p.m.
Foley will be joined by his team, Westborough residents Mary Foley and Malissa Butterfield; attorney Gary Sanginario, Esq.; Mortgage Master Peter Hurwitz; and Robert McIntyre, president of McIntyre Insurance. They will cover the entire home buying process, including realty, mortgages, closings, insurance and home inspections.
The second program, “The Basics of Borrowing: What You Need to Know to Improve Your Credit Score & Manage Your Debt,” will be presented Tuesday, April 24, at 6:30 p.m., by Dave Kaiser, branch manager, and Renee Letendre, lending specialist, from Central One Federal Credit Union.
They will cover types of debt, what lenders look for when deciding to lend, understanding credit reports & FICO scores, and things to consider when looking to borrow in today's environment.
