Jennifer K. O”Connor, 35Westborough – Jennifer K. (Hastings) O’Connor, 35, formerly of Auburn, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She leaves her best friend and loving husband of 3-1/2 years, Ryan J. O’Connor; her beloved parents, Terrance J. “Terry” and Martha J. (Rogers) Hastings of Auburn; her sister, Amy M. Messina and her husband Marc of Auburn; her nephew and niece, Thomas and Caroline Messina; and her in-laws, Patrick M. and Gail A O’Connor of Northborough, as well as several uncles, aunts, many cousins and dear friends.

Born in Worcester, she spent her childhood and younger years in Auburn. She graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1994, and then went on to Providence College, where she graduated from in 1998, and later earned her Master's Degree.

Mrs. O”Connor spent much of her career as an admissions counselor, first for Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. and then for the last 11 years at her alma mater, Providence College, where she held the position of Associate Dean of Admissions.

During her career at the college, she traveled extensively throughout the United States and in Europe, representing Providence College's Admission Department.

She enjoyed spending time with her husband and family in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Cape Cod. She loved to snowmobile in the mountains and relax on the beaches of the Cape.

She was a kind, caring, and wonderful young lady and she will be greatly missed by her husband, family, and many friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Rose Monahan Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Mrs. O”Connor and the entire family during her stay there.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday, March 29, from 4 to 7 p.m., in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held Friday, March 30, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass celebrated in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery of Auburn.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be sent to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, VNA Care, Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608 or to the North American Martyrs Parish, 8 Wyoma Dr., Auburn, MA 01501.
