Shrewsbury – Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation will be offering a youth baseball and T-ball clinic during April vacation. The baseball clinic is for grades 2 to 4 and the T-ball clinic is for ages 5 to 7, and each will focus on a variety of baseball skills. The clinics are geared towards those who are just beginning or that have some experience.
Dave Smith, who has been working with the department for six years implementing clinics through the Shrewsbury Parks & Rec department, will be teaching the clinics. He will cover the simple basics of hitting, throwing/playing catch, fielding ground balls, catching pop ups/fly balls, and base running.
Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation is currently accepting registration for residents and non-residents online at https://regrec.shrewsbury-ma.gov. The clinics will be held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, April 17, 18, and 19, at the Dean Park Little League Fields. The T-ball clinic is from 10 a.m. to noon and the baseball clinic is 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Cost is $70 for residents and $80 for non-residents for the T-ball clinic and $85 for residents and $95 for non-residents for the baseball clinic. Participants should bring snacks, plenty of fluids, and a glove (no cleats).
