Clifton A. Bickford, 98Westborough – Clifton A. “Bucca” Bickford, 98, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was the husband of the late Minnie L. (Drake) Bickford.

Born in Skowhegan, Maine, he was the son of the late Frederick and Carrie (Brown) Bickford and was educated in Maine schools. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Bickford was a self- employed carpenter in the Westborough area for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Westborough and enjoyed spending time with his entire family.

He is survived by two daughters, Shirley A. Bickford of Orange and Sally J. Colley and her husband, Scott, of Templeton; six grandchildren, Edward Newton, Kenneth Newton, Robert Newton, Michael Wetherbee, Jennifer Harden, and Daniel Bickford Rice; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Beverly Newton.

His funeral service will be held Friday, April 6, at 9:30 a.m., in the Congregational Church of Westborough, West Main Street. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Thursday, April 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.
