Northborough – The Northborough Area Community Chorus (NACC) will be performing its spring concert titled, “A Night at the Opera” Sunday, May 6. This nonprofit group is celebrating its fortieth year; the members are from fifteen area towns. In addition to two annual concerts, the chorus supplies scholarships to select high school graduates, performs at senior centers and contributes to a local food bank. Concerts are performed at Algonquin Regional High School, which is also where the group rehearses.
NACC publicist Mary Sullivan explained.
“We perform two concerts a year, our Christmas concert, and a themed spring concert,” Sullivan said. “We keep our ticket costs at $5. Where else can you go for $5 to listen to beautiful music and be entertained for hours?”
The Night at the Opera spring concert will be held at Algonquin May 6 at 3:15 p.m. The group will perform popular tunes such as, “Porgy and Bess,” “Sweet Mystery of Life” and the “Humming Chorus” from Madame Butterfly.
