Westborough – Marjorie O. Lightbody, 82, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was the wife of 60 years to George C. Lightbody, who passed away in 2008.
Born in Westborough, she was the daughter of the late Mark F. and Gertrude (Travers) O”Brien, she was educated in Westborough schools and was a graduate of Westborough High School.
Mrs. Lightbody was employed in administration at Bay State Abrasives prior to her retirement and had been a lifelong resident of Westborough.
She is survived by three sons, Mark W. Lightbody and his wife, Margaret, of Natick, Jon C. Lightbody and his wife, Susan, of Westborough, and Paul T. Lightbody and his wife, Laurie, of Westborough; one brother, Gerald P. O”Brien of Westborough; two sisters, Ruth O. Welsh of Westborough and Joan B. Wood of Westborough; seven grandchildren, Jon, Danielle, Sarah, Ben, Ryan, Amy, and Lauren; and one great-grandchild, Kayliana. She was the sister of the late William O”Brien.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12, at 10 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 11, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St.
