Marlborough Public Library hosts reception to honor Philomena HedinMarlborough – Philomena Hedin, a longtime employee of Marlborough Public Library, recently retired and the library is hosting a reception in her honor Thursday, April 12, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Bigelow Auditorium. The public is invited to help the library thank Hedin, who began working at the library in 1954, for her many years of service.

“Mena has been a fixture at the Main Floor desk where she greets people with a smile and a kind word and helps them check out library materials or get a library card,” said Margaret Cardello, Library Director.

Hedin also worked for many years in the Children's Department, where she read stories to hundreds of children.

The Marlborough Public Library is located at 35 West Main St. Parking is located behind the library on Witherbee Street.
