The C.A. six tips of the day for April 10Today is Tuesday April 10, the 101th day of 2012.

On this day in 1970, millions of Beatles fans around the globe got confirmation of what they had feared for several years – the band was officially breaking up. Although there had been discord and fighting within the group, and talk of “time off” from each other, it was a bizarre interview by Paul McCartney in which he interviewed himself that truly confirmed the news.

And on this day in 1866, the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) was founded in New York City by philanthropist and diplomat Henry Bergh.

Today's birthdays include – Haley Joel Osment (1988), the star of the “The Sixth Sense” who had the chilling line, “I see dead people,” actor Steven Seagal (1952) ; NFL coach and commentator John Madden (1936) and Joseph Pulitzer, the publisher and creator of the eponymous journalism prize (1847).

Here are six tips for the day –

1. All donors at this blood drive in Marlborough tomorrow will be entered into a special drawing for Red Sox tickets. Maybe you'sl be the one to win and bring the team some luck! At the very least, you'sl be doing something very important- giving the gift of life.
