Leominster – John A. Slocum, 80, formerly of Southborough, died at his home Monday, April 9, 2012, after being stricken ill suddenly. He was the husband of Marion (O”Leary) Slocum, and was predeceased by his first wife Shirley (McQuiggan) Slocum, who died in 1985.
Mr. Slocum was a U.S. Air Force veteran, and worked for the MDC for many years.
He is survived by his children; John A. Slocum Jr., Douglas P. Slocum of N.C., Mark A. Slocum of Orange, and Timothy J. Slocum and his wife, Dorothy, of Ashland; a sister, Ellie Hines and her husband Daniel of N.H.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 12, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 13, at 11 a.m., in the Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd. (Route 85).
