Hudson – Charles J. Bedard Sr., 85, died at his residence Friday, April 6, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor M. (Walker) Bedard.

Born and raised in Maynard, son of the late Joseph C. and Mary (Mauro) Bedard, he was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Bedard was employed as a driver for the Cobb Breeding Company in Littleton for many years until his retirement in the late 1980s. He enjoyed spending his spare time as an outdoorsman, was an avid fisherman, and loved hunting. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson and also a member of the Hudson V.F.W.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Laite and her husband, David, of Forestdale, and his son, John “Jack” D. Bedard Sr. and his wife, Karen, of Holden. He was predeceased by his son, Charles “Chuck” J. Bedard Jr., in 1999. He is also survived by his sister, Jennette Rezuke, and brother, Domonic Barbuto, both of Maynard, and his two grandchildren, Jessica Bedard of Hudson and John D. Bedard Jr. of Holden.

A private graveside service with military honors, attended by his loving family, was held April 10 at Glenwood Cemetery in Maynard. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson.
