Hudson community garden plots availableHudson – Applications for community garden plots this season are now available. Application packets are available at ApsleyParkCommunityGarden.org/plots and at the Recreation Department office at Hudson Town Hall. Applications are due by Tuesday, May 15, and a lottery will be held soon after to determine who will get raised planting beds this season.

Apsley Park Community Garden is located on Port Street next to the Portuguese Club and the Assabet River, just across the stone bridge from Wood Park.

For those interested in helping get the garden started, organizers are tentatively planning to build the raised bed frames (donated by Lowe's) on the weekend of May 5 and 6, and planning to put the soil (donated by Organic Mulch Supply) in the beds the weekend of May 12 and 13. Volunteers who can help either weekend can e-mail [email protected].

Also needed are donations for start-up costs and to pay liability insurance bills. Donate online at www.ApsleyParkCommunityGarden.org/donations or by mailing a check to Apsley Park Community Garden, P.O. Box 358, Hudson, MA 01749.
