Concord – Florence Anne (Ziane) Simarano, 89, formerly of Marlborough and Hudson, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Walden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Concord after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Simarano, who died in 1966.

Born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Bonifacio and Maria (DiBuono) Ziane, she spent most of her adult years as a resident of Marlborough, working and caring for children and grandchildren. She held many jobs during her lifetime, working for the Raytheon Co. and Marlborough Hospital, and as a beloved “lunch lady” at Marlborough Middle School.

Mrs. Simarano was a friend to all animals. She supported many rescue organizations and provided a loving home to many strays during her lifetime. She enjoyed bingo at the Hudson Elks and loved trips to Foxwoods.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Simarano of Leominster; two daughters, Paula Tessier and her husband, Doug, of Moosup, Conn. and Elaine Ambrose and her husband, David, of Peterborough, N.H.; her brother, Dominic Ziane of Hudson; and her two sisters, Gilda O”Callaghan and Viola Bairos, both of Hudson. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anne Trudeau, Mary Campos, Natalie Alexander, and Joseph Ziane.

Family and friends may attend a calling hour Friday, April 6, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough.
