Westborough Youth Commission seeks youth membersWestborough – The Westborough Youth Commission is seeking two high school students – one will be a junior and one who will be a senior in during the 2012-2013 school year – to serve as members of the town's Youth Commission.

The Youth Commission is a five member volunteer board, appointed by the Board of Selectmen to advocate for the needs of the youths and families of Westborough. It meets monthly with the Director of Westborough Youth and Family Services to guide the direction of the department.

Each student member will serve for the school year, September through June. The junior position will be for two years. Youth members of the Youth Commission attend monthly meetings, which are usually held on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. to provide a youth perspective on programs and policies being developed by the Youth Commission and Westborough Youth and Family Services.

This is a terrific community service opportunity to take a leadership role in the development of youth related programming for Westborough youth and to learn about the operation of town government.

Letters of interest should be sent to Westborough Youth and Family Services by May 25. Interviews will be held at the Youth Commission meeting on June 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
