Marlborough – Dr. Anthony Pope, the superintendent of the Marlborough Public Schools released this statement this afternoon in response the Marlborough Educators” Association (MEA) vote of “no confidence” in him taken earlier today:
It is unfortunate that the leadership of the Marlborough Educators” Association (MEA) has chosen to put such a divisive vote before its members. This vote is an attempt to undermine the impressive collaboration taking place in all of our schools among teachers, administrators, families, and district staff.
I hear from teachers every day who are deeply invested in the work we are undertaking together to improve student achievement. Despite pressures to maintain the status quo, teachers in every school across the district are working with us to take our classrooms and our students to the next level of excellence. I's confident that if we all truly focus on the needs of children, we will achieve great success.
