Cub Scouts meet their state representative
Shrewsbury – Six Cub Scouts from Shrewsbury's Pack 62 and their leaders traveled to Beacon Hill to tour the State House and meet state Rep. Matthew Beaton, R-Shrewsbury (back, right). Beaton took time out of his day to speak to the boys about citizenship and his work in the Legislature. The Scouts listened attentively and asked questions, but seemed most interested in learning about the “Sacred Cod of Massachusetts” that hangs in back of the House of Representatives” chamber (It symbolizes the importance of the fishing industry to the state).
While in Boston, they visited Faneuil Hall and enjoyed a picnic on Boston Common.
