Students recognized during Bowdoin College's annual Honors Day ceremonyRegion – Bowdoin College held its annual Honors Day ceremony May 9, with local students Daniel Palkin, Joseph Russo, Arseniy Sheydvasser, and Matthew Spring recognized for their achievements.

Palken, of Northborough, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2014, has been awarded the Edwin Herbert Hall Prize in Physics. Majoring in English and Physics, and minoring in Mathematics, he is a graduate of Algonquin Regional High School.

Russo, of Northborough, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2014, has been awarded the J.B. Sewall Latin Prize. Majoring in Economics and Earth Oceanographic Science, and minoring in Classics, he is a graduate of Roxbury Latin School.

Sheydvasser, of Southborough, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2012, has been awarded the Smyth Mathematical Prize. Majoring in Mathematics and Physics, Sheydvasser is a graduate of Algonquin Regional High School.

Spring, of Westborough, a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2013, has been awarded the John L. Howland Book Award in Biochemistry. Majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Italian, he is a graduate of Westborough High School.
