On this day in 1950, the troops of Ho-Chi-Minh attacked the country of Cambodia. Ho-Chi-Minh was a Vietnamese Marxist revolutionary leader who played a major role in Vietnam becoming a communist state in 1945. Ho-Chi-Minh was also responsible for the formation of the Viet Cong fighters and played a huge part in the Vietnam War.
On this day in 1999, Susan Lucci, after 19 nominations, finally won the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Actress, for her portrayal of All My Children's much married leading lady Erica Kane.
Among those born on this day – the late actor Raymond Burr (1917), ?”A Team” star Mr. T (1952), and the late “gangsta rapper,” the Notorious B.I.G, aka Biggie Smalls, who was gunned down in 1997 (1972).
