Northborough – Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc., a local nonprofit volunteer association, voted unanimously to make two significant monetary donations to the Northborough community during its first annual meeting of 2012.

It was brought to the group's attention that both the Northborough Food Pantry and the Trinity Free Medical Program Pharmacy (an offshoot of the Food Pantry) were short on funds due to the increasing needs of the community. The association donated $2,000 to the Trinity Free Medical Program Pharmacy, which supplies free over-the-counter medications and counseling about the medications in partnership with the Food Pantry.

The second donation was for $1,000, which went directly to the Food Pantry to assist with the large group of families in transition housed in Northborough.
