Richard I. Nichols, 80Westborough – Richard I. Nichols, 80, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home Friday, May 25, 2012. He was the husband of the late Marian K. Nichols.

Born in Marshfield, MA, he served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Nichols was employed as a press operator at Bay State Abrasives for many years retiring in 1996.

He was a member of The Congregational Church of Westborough, the Siloam Lodge AF & AM, the Scottish Rite, the Shriners, he Knights Templar and the Royal Arch Chapter.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Weber of S. Grafton; six sons, Richard I. Nichols, Jr. of S. Grafton, Dennis W. Nichols of Jacksonville, FL, William F. Nichols of Grafton, Charles W. Nichols of Shrewsbury, David E. Nichols of S. Grafton, and Douglas W. Nichols of Uxbridge; one brother, Warren Nichols of Columbus, OH; a dear friend, Judy Oliver of Westborough; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Overlook Hospice for their care and compassion.

His funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, at 10:00 A.M., in The Congregational Church, West Main Street, Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Tuesday, May 29, from 4 to 7 P.M. Members of Siloam Lodge will conduct a Masonic Service at 6:45 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
