Wood Kids Classic Golf Tournament celebrates milestoneMarlborough – More than 150 golfers and volunteers will join together Monday, July 16, for the milestone 20th year in memory of Bob “R.F.” Wood and raise much needed funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest. Presented by DCU for Kids, the 20th Annual R.F. Wood Kids Classic Golf Tournament will be held at Marlborough Country Club and hopes to raise $40,000 to support the quality out-of-school programming that serves over 3,500 local youth each year.

Golfers will enjoy 18 holes of golf, lunch on the course provided by Panera Bread of Marlborough, a cocktail reception and dinner sponsored by Framingham Co-Operative Bank. There will also be the opportunity to participate in raffles, betting holes and contests throughout the day, including a Hole-in-One contest for a 2012 Nissan Altima donated by Marlboro Nissan.

Each year the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest presents the R.F. Wood Award to an individual who represents the qualities that R.F. Wood valued – including outstanding dedication and volunteerism for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest. This year the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest and the Wood family will honor local Hudson businessman Donald Garcia of Boyd Coatings Research Co.
