Hudson – Cecilia M. (Lajoie) Correia, 92, of Hudson, formerly of Marlborough, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Marlborough, daughter of the late Edward E. and Ida (Belhuemer) Lajoie, she was employed in the shoe manufacturing industry for many years locally until her retirement.
Cecilia was a resident at Peter's Grove in Hudson, where she enjoyed the many functions and friends she had the opportunity to share time with. She cherished all the times she spent with her family, and was especially proud to be a part of all their lives as a fifth generation mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Hudson, and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Bissonnette of Hudson; her three grandchildren, Rebecca Benevelli of Marlborough, Heidi Stafford of Clinton, and Mark Bissonnette of Henderson, N.C.; her nine great-grandchildren, Nicole, Adam, Mathew, Kalen, Kaitlyn, Patrick, Evan, Jacob, and Brianna; her four great-great-grandchildren, Kailynn, Rileigh, Bailee, and Cole; and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her many siblings.
A funeral service will be celebrated Monday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church, 34 Felton St., Hudson. Burial services will be held at a later date in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Marlborough. Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 17, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
