Gerald R. Trombley, 70Northborough – Gerald R. “Gerry” Trombley, 70, died peacefully at home Tuesday, June 19, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Theresa (Bouvier); his daughter, Kristin DeFosse and her husband, Kevin, of Worcester; two sons, Stephen Trombley and his wife, Liza, of Worcester and Michael Trombley and his wife, Melissa, of Northborough; his grandchildren, Adam and Katherine DeFosse, Owen and Camille Trombley, and Cy and Samone Trombley; his sisters, Jeanne Huggett, Ruth Spezia, and Carolyn Rutkowski, all of Michigan; and his brothers, Raymond Trombley of Tennessee and Ed Trombley and Roger Trombley of Michigan. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Ellen Cichon and Lois Szydlek.

Born and raised in Detroit, Gerry was the son of the late Raphael and Eleanor Trombley. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Boston College, and he worked as a social worker for the Town of Brookline for 37 years, retiring in 2007.

Gerry was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Church in Northborough, where he taught religious education for more than 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting his vacation homes in Wells, Maine and Hypoluxo, Florida.

The family would like to thank UMass Memorial Hospice and dear friend Marsha Zindle for the compassionate care shown to Gerry during his illness.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the Mass, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
