Marlborough – Despite a barrage of criticism, Marlborough Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Anthony Pope has not given in to those who have called for his resignation.
Critics have taken issue with Pope on a variety of matters. While most of the criticism seems to center on the firing of popular Assistant Principal Adam Bakr, others cite a lack of leadership ability and a guidance counselor even alleges that Pope pushed her.? Recently, the Marlborough Educators Association union returned a “no confidence” vote on Pope.
In response, Pope has apologized and has urged all to move forward with the business of educating the city's youth. To this end, he has supported holding conflict resolution training seminars for all involved parties including him, during summer break.
