U.S. Navy Lt. Commander Jon Letourneau transfers to Washington, D.C.Shrewsbury – U.S. Navy Lt. Commander Jon Letourneau, son of Philip and Deborah Letourneau of Shrewsbury, has been transferred to Washington, D.C. to manage surface craft shipbuilding and acquisitions.

Lt. Commander Letourneau had previously been assigned to Inserv, the inspection branch of the U.S. Navy, and was responsible for the inspection of Nuclear Submarines through the entire fleet.

He received his two master's degrees in Mechanical and Systems Engineering at the U.S. Naval graduate school in Monterey, California. Prior to that, he graduated from R.P.I. with a Mechanical Engineering Degree.

During his time in the fleet, Lt. Commander Letourneau had earned his Submarine Dolphin pin, the Surface Warfare pin, and the Amphibious Warfare pin, and spent a tour of duty in Iraq. He has been informed that he will be promoted to full Commander at the end of the year.
