Northborough – Children enjoy a fun-filled afternoon cooling off at Northborough's “Splash Pad.” Located at the Assabet Park on South Street (Rt. 135), preschool children can beat the heat by running through a maze of water fountains and enjoying lunch at one of the many picnic tables.

Said one parent, “I bring my kids here on hot summer days and they have a blast.”

Splash Pad is free to the public. The hours of operation are: noon to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Splash Pad will close for the season Friday, August 27. There is no monitor at the park.
