Shrewsbury – The Board of Selectmen honored Dorbert Thomas, a longtime member of the Conservation Commission, at its July 10 meeting. The board presented Thomas with a plaque and thanked her for her twenty-three years of work for the town's conservation efforts.
The board also approved license requests made during three public hearings held during the meeting.
Price Chopper Operating Co. of Massachusetts, Inc. d/b/a? Price Chopper #229, 731 Boston Turnpike, sought the transfer of an All Alcoholic Beverages Package Store License from ACAP-RT 9, Inc., 476 Boston Turnpike. It also sought approval of a Change of Manager from J. Michael Cucinotta to Roderick MacRae. The hours of operation for the new license will be Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 9 p.m.
Son Hai Vo, manager of I-Craze Yogurt, 50 Boston Turnpike, was approved for a Common Victualler's License for that location. The hours of operation will be Sunday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Wagner & Wagner Auto Sales, Inc., d/b/a Audi of Shrewsbury, Mark W. Wagner, manager, was approved for a Class I and Commercial Garage License. The business, to be located at 780 Boston Turnpike, is set to have its grand opening Thursday, Oct. 11.
In other business, the board also approved the reappointment of Brian Beaton to the Historic District Commission for a three-year term.
Maurice DePalo, the board's chair, thanked the Parks Department for its help in coordinating the summer band concerts that were due to start July 11. Selectman John Lebeaux added that the department had also helped the town have a very successful Fourth of July celebration.
The board also approved a payment of $4,488 for annual membership dues in the Massachusetts Municipal Association for 2013.
