Shrewsbury – A 5K Road Race and 1 Mile Fun Run will be held at the Floral School, 54 Floral St., Saturday, July 28 to benefit the Shrewsbury Parks and Recreation Department Special Needs Program.
There will be nine divisions (male and female in each): 1) Future stars, ages 0-14; 2) High School, ages 15-18; 3) 19-29; 4) 30-39; 5) 40-49; 6) 50-59; 7) 60 plus; 8) Special Needs Athlete and 9) Special Olympics Volunteer.
The Fun Run will start at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9 a.m. The fee for the Fun Run is $5.00. The fee for the 5K is $20 before July 25 and $25 after that date.
Timing and scoring will be by Central Mass Striders, with the results posted on coolrunning.com. T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registered 5K runners. A raffle will also be held after the race.
