Ljupco Kuzmanovski, 84Shrewsbury – Ljupco Kuzmanovski, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in UMass Medical Center. He was 84.

Ljupco, known to many as Louie, was born Feb. 25, 1928 in Bitola, Macedonia, a son of the late Metodiga and Mirija (Nikolova) Kuzmanovski, and emigrated to the United States in 1967. Raised and educated in Macedonia, he and his brothers owned and operated a textile manufacturing company. Upon settling in the States, he worked in the animal laboratory department at UMass and later at Astra Zeneca Corporation in Westborough.

Louis was an avid soccer enthusiast and worked alongside his late son, Kiril “Kiro” Kuzmanovski, at “Kiro's Soccer Camp” in Shrewsbury for many years. He is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather. He had a terrific sense of humor and wit and enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

In addition to his son, Kiro, who died May 11, 2008, he was predeceased by his brothers, Aleksander and Tome Kuzmanovski.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Marija (Nikolova) Kuzmanovski; his daughter, Sonja Altiparmakov of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, Vanessa Kuzmanovski of Millbury and Dimitar Altiparmakov of New York City; and his brothers, Boris Kuzmanovski in Germany and Dimitar Kuzmanovski in Macedonia.

Family and friends will honor and remember Louie's life by gathering for calling hours Friday, July 20, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Rd., On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, and again on Saturday, July 21, where his funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury.
