Westborough – Town officials have completed the process of appointing residents to town committees for 2012.
Town Moderator Joseph Harrington recently announced the appointments and changes to the Advisory Finance Committee (AFC) and Capital Planning Expenditures Committee
John E. Arnold and James E. Tepper were each reappointed for a three-year term to the AFC. New member Sharon L. Kaiser was also appointed for a three-year term.
“JoJeanne Lown opted not to continue after eight years of distinguished service including two as chair (of the AFC),” Harrington said.
William E. Linnane has resigned from the AFC, Harrington said. Instead he will serve as a non-voting associate member of the Capital Expenditures Planning Committee. Gary P. Wells was appointed to fill out the remainder of Linnane's term which expires in 2014.
James D. Meikle was reappointed to the Capital Expenditures Planning Committee.
At the July 17 Board of Selectmen's meeting, three residents – Ed Beauchemin, Ellen Gugel, Donald Burn and Bruce Tretter – were appointed to the new Westborough Ad Hoc Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.

Brandi Phillips was appointed to the Bay State Green Committee.
The board also approved en masse the annual reappointments of other committees, boards, and commissions that report to it.
There are still a number of vacant positions that residents are encouraged to apply for, including: Conservation Commission, COA, Country Club Operating Committee, Historical Commission, Housing Partnership Committee, Personnel Board, Recreation Commission and the new Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
