Worcester – NO cold? NO Rain?? NO TORNADO!? Just lots of fun and laughs and over $160,000.00 raised for the Easter Seals Walk With Me Event held June 6 at Quinsigamond Park in Worcester.? It was a great time had by all.? Last year's walk was cancelled due to the tornado that came in like a lion.? But this year the weather was great and the walk attracted about 300 participants.
Susan Davolio Mitchell and her team, Ron Mitchell, Mary Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, Lisa Wagner and Janet Wagner, raised just over $5,600.00. Also on hand were Tom Brown and Frank McKinsey Lamb of Blue Knights Chapter XV who presented Easter Seals with a check for $500.00.
Susan's team held a Comedy Night in March to raise money for Easter Seals, which was quite a success, with the help of Rich McCabe who brought in comedians Caitlyn Cronin, who gave a wonderful inspirational presentation of how Easter Seals has helped her accomplish so much, and, of course Chad and Robin at the Scandinavian Athletic Club (SAC Park) in Shrewsbury.
Easter Seals is a non-profit organization that provides services to children and adults with disabilities to live full and independent lives, and ensures equal opportunity to Live, Learn, Work and Play.? 89 percent of all money raised for Easter Seals in Massachusetts goes directly to people with disabilities in the Commonwealth.
