Marlborough couple celebrates 50th anniversary

Marlborough – Robert (“Bob”) and Madeline Dupuis were married Aug. 4, 1962, at Immaculate Conception (IC) Church in Marlborough and had a reception at the Indian Meadow Country Club in Westborough. This summer, on Aug. 4, they renewed their marriage vows at IC Church and once again celebrated the happy occasion, their 50th wedding anniversary, at the Indian Meadow Country Club, in the presence of family and friends.

They are natives of Marlborough, attended local schools and continue to live in the city and raise their family here. All three of their children attended the event with their partners; this included:? Lisa (Dupuis) and Ron Lapinski, of Acton, Andrea (Dupuis) and Michael Richards, of Nashua, N. H; and Christopher and Elaine Dupuis, of Littleton.? They have seven grandchildren, Olivia, Paul and Cecilia Lapinski, Nicholas and Dominic Richards, and Brian and Nadia Dupuis.

Bob was a radio announcer for 18 years at WPLM in Plymouth and WTAG in Worcester. He spent 22 years as a French/Latin teacher at Algonquin Regional High School. As an avocation, he is a musician and has played the piano at various restaurants in and around Marlborough and on Cape Cod. Madeline was employed as an executive administrator at Massachusetts Electric Company, Marlborough High School and Digital Equipment Corporation.

The couple has been involved in many activities at IC Church and School, as Eucharist ministers, lectors and members of the Parish Council, and taught religious education.? They have also been working with Our Father's Table, which serves food to those in need; and on the Evening of Giving Committee, which benefits Roland's House, the local homeless shelter, for many years.
