Gardeners Emporium to be held Sept. 8 at Tower Hill
Boylston – Tower Hill Botanic Garden, 11 French Dr., Boylston, will present the ninth annual Gardeners Emporium, a fall plant and garden accessory sale, Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The celebrated Gardeners Emporium features more than a dozen nonprofit, regional plant societies, specialty nurseries, and purveyors of distinctive garden ornaments. This autumn tradition at Tower Hill is a unique opportunity for gardeners to experience a diverse array of specialty plants and gear up for their fall gardening. U.S. Tae Kwon Do congratulates 2012 U.S. National Team Member
Shrewsbury ? U.S. Tae Kwon Do in Shrewsbury pleased to congratulate Edward Jeong as a 2012 U.S. National Team member. Jeong has been involved with tae kwon do since he was 3 years old. At the age of 14, he achieved his 3rd degree Black Belt. As he continued training enthusiastically, he helps motivate other students to push themselves and do their best every day. Also, he demonstrates the five aims of tae kwon do: respect, humility, perseverance, self-control, and honesty both within the Do Jang (training area) as well as outside in his everyday life. His other achievements and credentials include 2012 U.S Open Championship Silver and Bronze medalist, 2011 Junior Olympic gold medalist, and Competitor and Medalist in numerous state and New England tournaments.
Briarwood golf outing tees off Sept. 13
Worcester – Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community will host its 4th Annual Golf Outing Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Wachusett Country Club in West Boylston. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and development of Memory Support Services at Briarwood. The tournament will kick off with registration at 9:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Following the tournament, a cocktail hour and awards dinner with live and silent auctions will be held.? Briarwood is a nonprofit community that includes independent living cottages and apartments, assisted living apartments, and the Knollwood Nursing Center for skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.
