Westborough – At the Aug. 21 Board of Selectmen's meeting, resident Paula Less approached the board to discuss her proposal to use town buildings for storage purposes. Less, who had first presented the proposal during the open forum section of a previous meeting, said she had felt disrespected at that time by the board and as a result, felt resentful. She then started asking for answers on the matter from board members.
Leigh Emery, the board's chair, stopped Less, and noted that she, not Less, was running the meeting. It was then discussed that although board members had reviewed the material from the earlier meeting, they had not yet come to a conclusion on how they wished to proceed. The board added that they welcomed Less's further participation regarding this ongoing issue.
In other business, a request by Habitat for Humanity that Westborough donate parcels of land at 1 Upton Road and 45 High Street to the organization was considered. The board noted that it needed more information, time to study the issue, and to hear comments from neighbors near the two spots. The request will be reconsidered at a future date.
