Manomet – Virginia “Butch” (Fish) White, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Manomet on Saturday night, Aug. 25, 2012, with her loving family at her side. She was the widow of Donald White and sister of the late Hazel Longhi and George Fish.

Born October 24, 1924, she lived in Hudson until her move to Manomet to be near her daughter’s family in 1997.

Virginia is survived by her son, Dan and his wife, Joyce, of Tempe, AZ; her daughter, Pam and her husband, Mike Almada, of Manomet, MA; and four grandchildren, Ben and Elizabeth Almada, both of Manomet, Katie Knott of San Antonio, TX, and Ethan and his wife, Jennifer Almada, of Kingston, MA. Her grandchildren, Ella and Colton Almada of Kingston, added great joy to her last years.

The gentle sense of humor and fiery, spirited, good nature that were her hallmarks brought warmth and laughter to her extended family, and her easy welcome, self-effacing presence and acceptance of all will be greatly missed.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 9:00 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
