Hudson – Joseph L. Mantino, 81, of Hudson, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen A. “Lin” (Dumalac) Mantino of Hudson.
Joseph was born and raised in Marlborough, son of the late Francisco and Domenica (Duca) Mantino. He attended local schools in Marlborough and was employed as a stock room manager for many years by Digital Equipment Corp. in Shrewsbury and later Hudson until his retirement. He was a member of the Fayville Athletic Association; former member of St. Mark's Golf Course and member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks where he spent many years as a bartender.
Joseph loved spending time with his family and in his spare time enjoyed bowling, playing billiards and was an avid golfer. He will be missed by his family and they would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all those who shared their support and loving care during Joseph's time of declining health, especially all of the wonderful staff members at Marlborough Hospital, the Visiting Nurse Association and Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two children, Frank J. Mantino and his wife Risa of Lunenburg and Christine M. Mantino of Shrewsbury; his sister, Mary Andrade of Marlboro; his three grandchildren, Mikayla and Raquel Mantino, Chelsea Tuttle; and his many other realtives and friends. He was the brother of the late Michael “Mickey” Mantino, Del Wiles and Rose Hamilton, all of Marlborough.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, followed by a celebration of Joseph's life at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson.
