Shrewsbury – In their young lives, First Lieutenant (1LT) Ryan McLane, of Agawam and his fiancée, Shrewsbury resident Taylor Lincoln have already had to deal with adversity that would have left many people beaten. Now, as they prepare for a lifetime together, they are asking their family members, friends, neighbors, and fans of a great love story to help them win a contest for the wedding of their dreams.
McLane, who is in the Army National Guard, is a Bronze Star Medal recipient for his service in Kabul, Afghanistan where he conducted over 200 mounted combat patrols.
Lincoln's brother, at a very young age, successfully battled a brain tumor.? Her mother survived a heart attack while McLane was on deployment. She now runs in events to help raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. (Her brother was treated there.)? She also provided emotional support for McLane through an illness he had as well.

“She has inspired others around her with her running, as well as myself. We have run multiple races together and plan to raise the money and run for Dana Farber in the upcoming Boston Marathon this year,” McLane said.
The couple got engaged on July 4 of this year.
“We met in college through a mutual friend. We also worked in the same building, and Taylor would pretend not to see me when I would say hello (she was playing hard to get!),” McLane recalled. “Well eventually she let me take her on a date, and we just hit it off! Since then we have fallen in love, and I don’t know what I would do without her. She has always been there for me.”
Now, McLane would like to give his selfless bride-to-be a fabulous wedding but looming student loans (both are graduates of UMass Amherst) and lingering medical expenses, will make that difficult.
That's where the Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston and TV station Fox 25 News come in. The two organizations have partnered in an annual contest for military veterans, called “A Wedding to Remember” (http://www.myfoxboston.com/category/241687/a-wedding-to-remember). McLane and Lincoln are one of the three finalists to win an all-expenses? dream wedding on Veterans Day,? Nov. 11, 2012, at the Westin Copley Place in Boston. Friends and fans can go to that website and vote for their favorite couple once a day up until 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26.
In addition to the wedding and reception at the Westin Copley Place, the lucky couple will win a honeymoon at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino.
