Shrewsbury – To follow the request from the Shrewsbury Health Department to cancel or reschedule all planned evening, outdoor gatherings, and sporting events in Shrewsbury, between the hours of dusk and dawn, due to the recent increase in mosquito-borne illness detection, the Shrewsbury Garden Club has announced that both the scarecrow contest and display and the lighted pumpkin display on the Town Common have been canceled for 2012. All participants that have already registered to be a part of these events will be contacted.
