Northborough – Florajean “Jean” (Aird) Harper, 81, formerly of Westborough, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 at the Coleman House.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Charles H. Harper; two daughters, Nancy Harper of Dallas, TX and Patricia Enzien and her husband Michael of Lisle, IL; one son, Daniel Harper of Cary, NC; three grandchildren, Jacob, Chelsea, Grace; and nieces and nephews.
Jean was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Blair) Aird. She lived in Westborough from 1972 – 1995 before moving to Northborough. She graduated college from Fitchburg State in 1952 and went on to receive her Master's at Ana Maria College.
She was employed as a social worker for the Guild of St. Agnes in Worcester. She taught elementary school for many years in Arlington, Melrose, and Boulder, CO. She was active in the Northborough Senior Center, and was a member of Northborough Art Guild and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Westborough.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Coleman House and Brookhaven Hospice for their dedication and compassion. Special thanks is extended to the St. Stephen's Church family and also to the wonderful neighbors of Birchwood.
Jean's funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 8, at10:00 a.m., in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 John St., Westborough. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 3 John St., Westborough.
