Hudson High School presents “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”Hudson – Oct. 26 – 28, audiences will have the pleasure of seeing Hudson High School's fall musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Written by the Tony Award winning team of William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers’ angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. This oddest of hit musicals is about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

The cast includes Vinny Bonina as Chip/Jesus; Alison Eadie as Logainne/Leaf's Mom; Jack Colaianni as Leaf/Dan Dad; Edward Andrews as William Barfee/Leaf's Dad; Carly Usherwood as Marcy/Leaf's Sister; Laura Girard, winner of the 2011 TAMY Award for Best Supporting Actress, as Olive; Brooke Mega as Rona/Olive's Mom; Taylor Benson as Panch; Buren Andrews as Mitch/Carl Dad/Olive's Dad; Sam Keville as Female Understudy/Saturday Logainne; and Vinicius Bulhões as Male Understudy/Saturday Chip.

Spelling Bee will be performed Friday, Oct. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m., at Hudson High School's Intel Mini Theatre, 69 Brigham St.? Admission is a $10 donation for adults and a $7 donation for students and seniors.? All proceeds directly benefit the Hudson High Drama Society. The show is recommended for ages 8 and up due to the adolescent nature of the show.
