Top Five Reasons to Vote Dean Cavaretta for State Senate

This Tuesday voters in Westborough will go to the polls to cast their vote. ?I write today to encourage you to vote for Dean Cavaretta for State Senate.? There are many reasons to vote for Dean but I present what I believe to be the top five.

5.?? Dean will be on the Legislature's Education Committee if elected

The Republican State Senate Caucus already announced it would appoint Dean to the Legislature's Education Committee.? The Committee has subject matter jurisdiction through the 12th grade.? Senator Eldridge is not on this committee.

4. Dean is a certified Teacher with a 10-point education plan? ?

Dean is a certified teacher who has taught in the Acton-Boxborough and Lexington School Systems as a Middle School and High School History teacher and as a Special Education Aid.? Dean's ten-point plan for education includes implementing a U.S. History MCAS exam and ending unfunded education mandates from the State.

3. Dean will fight for Local Aid

Dean proposes that the Massachusetts Legislature go from the current one-year budget cycle to a two-year budget cycle.? This will give towns and cities the ability to better plan their budgets long-term.

2. Dean Understands We Need to Make Massachusetts More Affordable

Recently, CNBC named Massachusetts the second most expensive state to do business in in the country. ?Massachusetts is already an expensive place to live, yet Senator Eldridge wants to raise gas taxes, income taxes, and enact a carbon tax.? Dean wants to make Massachusetts more affordable by lowering corporate and personal taxes back towards 5 percent.

1. Dean's Top Priority is Jobs and the Economy. ?

Dean has submitted to the legislature a bill called “An Act to Make MA More Competitive for Jobs.”? The bill will freeze new regulations on small businesses for the next 36 months. The National Federation of independent Businesses (NFIB) has endorsed Dean.
