Westborough teen injured in crash with truckWestborough – Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this afternoon:

On 11/6/12, at 12:00 Noon, the Westborough Police Department responded to the area of 132 South St. for a reported accident between a motor vehicle and an oil delivery truck. The arriving units found a 2001 Lexus wedged under the rear of the 2005 Freightliner truck with the operator of the Lexus pinned inside his vehicle.

The Westborough Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to extricate Zachary Diamond, age 17 of 27 Cook St. Westborough from the vehicle. He was treated at the scene by Paramedics from the Westborough Fire Department and transported to U Mass Medical for non life threatening injuries.

The operator of the truck was identified as Alfred Perron, age 37 of 2 Laurel St. Oxford. The vehicle was owned by Al's Oil in Shrewsbury.

The investigation showed that Diamond suffered a medical issue while proceeding south on South St. His vehicle ran into the rear of the truck which was proceeding in the same direction.

Traffic on South St. was diverted away from the scene for about an hour while Diamond was removed from the vehicle. The accident was investigated by Off. Jeffrey Keaveney.
