Marlborough – The Marlborough Fire Department released this statement this morning:
The Marlborough Fire Department responded to the 6th reported structure fire within the last 3 weeks on the evening of November 19, 2012.
Marlborough Fire Alarm received a 911 call report of a fire at 100 Phelps Street, lot 7. Engine 1, Engine 3, Ladder 2, and Rescue 1 responded on the initial alarm. Engine 3, arrived from their station on Boston Post Road and reported the fire involving an 8″ X 10″ storage shed. The fire was extinguished and there was no extension to the nearby mobile home.
The fire caused an estimated $1,500 worth of damage to the shed and its contents.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and is under investigation by the Marlborough Fire Department's Fire Investigation Unit. Anyone with information about this fire should call the Fire Investigation Unit at 508-624-6984 Extension 13.
