Hudson – Earlier this month, the Arts Alliance River's Edge Players presented four performances of “A Christmas Carol, the Musical” at Hudson Town Hall. Three out of the four performances were sold out.
Charles Dickens’ ageless story of the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, who is visited by three ghosts on the eve of Christmas, is beautifully written by Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent, with an amazing score by Alan Menken. This was a wonderful, humorous, vibrant, and emotional holiday show that helped get the audience into the spirit of this season. ?A Christmas Carol, the Musical was directed by Lynne Johnson, with music directed by Paul Johnson both of Hudson and choreography by Denise Day of Shrewsbury.
Thirty-six actors from area communities played the entertaining characters, including Jean Valchuis of Berlin; Bob Plaskon of Bolton; Nicolas Larkin of Fitchburg; David Andrews, Vinicius Bulhoes, Marissa Cecca, Jack Colaianni, Laura Girard, Scott Kall, Nadia Medeiros, Brooke Mega, Andrew Nugent, Julia Terra-Salomao, Elise Togneri, and Sarah Worrest, all of Hudson; Juliane Santos of Lowell; Rachel Bowen, Sarah Cronin, Stephen D”Alessandro, Aidan Daugherty, Charlotte Daugherty, Rebecca Daugherty, and Justin Hernandez, all of Marlborough; Alex Jordan, Bridget Wixted, Jack Wixted, and Rebecca Wixted, Northborough; Lyndsey Hawkes of Stow; XiLin Choi, YiLin Choi, Allison Densel, Cathy Koerwer, Nicki Koerwer, and Jin Zhang, all of Sudbury; Pat Nolan of Whitinsville; and Olivia O”Toole of Worcester.
The Arts Alliance, a local non-profit, has been successfully offering theatrical programs for the area to enjoy during the past 24 years. The Arts Alliance formed the River's Edge Players especially so area adults and families could participate in local theater.
