Shrewsbury – Antony Rathinam passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in UMass Memorial Medical Center at the age of 74.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Regina Rathinam; their children, Francis Antony and his wife Jasmin, Christina Nathan and her husband Peo, George Antony and his wife Devi; his beloved grandchildren, Adi and Varun Nathan, Sahana Antony, Jason and Sarah Antony; and his loving siblings, Sr. Nirmala, Sesu Therese Rathinam, Susai Rathinam, Thomas Rathinam, and Raj Rathinam.
Antony was born in India and was a college professor at Loyola College. After his retirement, he came to live in Shrewsbury. He enjoyed singing and playing various musical instruments.
He was an integral part in his grandchildren's lives and will be missed dearly. He is the son of the late Rathinam Pillai and Preiyanayagam Rathinam.
Visitation is Saturday, Feb. 23, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Britton Funeral Home in Shrewsbury, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial is at Mountain View Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral and burial.
