Westborough – Elaine M. McPherson, 82, of Westborough, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Malcolm Greg McPherson.
Born in Westborough, she was the daughter of the late Jonas L. and Geneva M. (Farquhar) Johnson. She was educated in Westborough schools and was a graduate of Westborough High School.
Elaine was a talented, self-employed seamstress for many years. Later, she worked as a sales clerk for many area jewelry stores.
She was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Westborough and in recent years attended The Congregational Church of Westborough. She was a member of a knitting club at The Willows, knitting hats and mittens for school age children and helmet inserts for the troops, she also made bead jewelry.
She is survived by her three children, Russell L. McPherson and his wife, Kathleen, of Northborough, Jo-Ann E. Broderick of Framingham, and Mark C. McPherson and his wife, Liz, of Lunenburg; nine grandchildren, Denise Montgomery, Ian McPherson, Erin Dimick, Jamie McPherson, Kristen McPherson, Jenna Broderick, Owen Broderick, Ken McPherson, and Rachel McPherson; and five great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Kenneth David McPherson.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, Feb. 25, at 11:00 a.m., in The Congregational Church of Westborough, West Main Street, Westborough. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private. Calling hours are Sunday, Feb. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
