Marlborough – U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas, 3rd District, arrived in Marlborough Feb. 19 as part of her “Congress on your Corner” program designed to allow citizens of the district an opportunity to speak with her in a personal setting.
Marlborough residents filled the lobby of the Senior Center on Main Street as they waited to take questions and concerns to the congresswoman one by one.
“One woman just came in to say hello and kind of express her concerns across the board,” Tsongas said. She noted that she fielded questions on many topics ranging from interest rates to office space.
Marlborough is one of 11 communities in the new third district after a congressional redistricting initiative was put into place in January. Tsongas said she plans to return to the city frequently.
Tsongas said she also spent a portion of her time in Marlborough meeting with local officials as well as learning about a new start-up company, Qualtre, Inc.
She also announced that there are definite plans for her to have office space in Marlborough in the near future.
“We will have a physical presence here,” she said.
