Westborough – George J. Neubauer, 85, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 8, 2013 at home. He was the husband of Mary T. (Haggerty) Neubauer.
Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna (Donovan) Neubauer. He was a graduate of Holy Cross College, Boston University and of the PMD at Harvard Business School. During WW II he served with the United States Marines.
George was employed as the manager of the Jet Engine Sales Division at Wyman-Gordon for over 30 years prior to his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and a former member of the Westborough Country Club. He enjoyed reading, golf, biking and traveling extensively.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Mary-Beth Van Ness of Shrewsbury and Mark E. Neubauer of Manchester, NH; two brothers, Raymond Neubauer of California and Norman Neubauer of S. Carolina; three granddaughters, Emily Van Ness, Amanda Van Ness and Erin Van Ness; one great-grandchild, Haven Van Ness; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m., in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in St. Luke's Cemetery will be private. Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Wednesday, March 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.
